What to wear?
So what are all you wearing to Bats Day on Sunday? I really want to deck out with a corset and the uber floof but I know it will be hot and there is a lot of walking involved. I am thinking comfy shoes and capris may be the way to go. And a huge vat of sunblock, lol.

Bats Day Plus Size Tshirts
Okay this is not for public consumption...just for distribution amongst us/our friends who we can account for...
I was just on the phone with Noah from BatsDay and he said that if I could provide to him a list of people we know orderd Package A (simply because we weren't going to buy a size L tshirt we couldn't wear) instead of a package with a +size shirt in it .... He could get us all a set of shirts ordered and we could upgrade our packages with him (he'll facilitate this).
So here's what you need to do...
Respond back to this post that you want to add a + size shirt (men's plus size shirt) XL or 2X and the quantity you'd like to add to your package and your email address you used for registering for BatsDay (this way Noah can find you in his database). I don't know the price, I anticipate as with other +size shirts that this will incur an additional $2-3/shirt extra for "talles grandes por las mujeres amplias"
I'm terribly excited about this option. So if you know of someone else who is going that would want one of these and you're willing to put their purchase under your name... GREAT! Or if they did the Pkg. A versus the others due to the limited Tshirt size, include the email they used to register here as well.
Noah has to have a set minimum # of shirts to order extras beyond what he has so we need to see at least close to 25 folks who want bigger shirts for this to happen!
Whee...we can have kewl tshirts too! ;)
Number of Shirts
Email used to register for BatsDay
You know what to do! Go forth and gather the masses...

I don't know how feasible it would be, but if people are going to be around the LA area either the weekend before or after Bat's Day, we might want to try and arrange a group trip to attend a Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens
performance. I'm on an e-mailing list that details all the current company activity and despite what that website says, the LA production has just been extended into September. The one catch is that they only perform it on Saturday nights at 8pm (at least at this time. If I hear anything other than that, then I'll absolutely post about it).
I caught a version of the show in London last year and it's totally fun. Very Rocky Horror
kind of campy joy. It's normally set up cabaret-style so all the actors engage directly with the audience. And since the majority of the songs are re-vamped pop cultural hits (like Bowie's "Starman"), there's lots of fun sing-a-longs.Here's some pictures
from various past performances (there are character profiles too, if you click on the picture links). And the official site
which contains more info on the plot, the theatre set up, and a couple of song samples.
Just a thought. ;}

cheap flights please!
well dears, now that we know when/where i hope some kind souls out there will be posting about cheap fares when they are available. I'm not a savvy airline ticket shopper and i can never seem to find anything under $350 to Ca so if anybody spots super cheapo tickets please post about it.

Why don't we just ship Liz around from area to area... a couple of days in NYC... a couple of days in the South... a couple of days on the west coast....

good news (for me)
this is not going to make sense unless you know me (and about 1/2 of you do) ... but i have good news! My husband is all over us going to New York in September so he can visit his family and i can hang out w/ you guys for a few days ::beams::. So if you love me please vote for the first week in September so I can attend ok? it'll be perfect for us. (Lizbet, i don't recall what i voted for - but i need to change my vote for the labor-day weekend).
and i demand a reason to bring my new Polonaise and corset! There *must* be uber-fabulousness as an excuse to take the fabulous gown out of moth balls \m/
once the date is nailed down, we can work on finding cheap tickets :)
I'm so happy! Can't wait to see you guys, and meet the few of you I haven't met already :D

mermaid parade pimp! - NYC
(lizbet, feel free to delete this is it's inappropriate)
Just so you know, The Mermaid Parade is June 25th this year. http://www.coneyisland.com/mermaid.shtml
That might be too early for some of you who are teaching, but I figured I'd mention it.
Looking back in earlier entries, I don't think I need to sell anyone on NYC, but here's a small bonus- Depending on how many ppl are coming, I can offer up my house in queens for a clothing swap. I've got a decent free shit pile that you ladies can peruse. I've also got a front yard and a back yard, should the swapping be uncontainable by the house itself. heh.

this has nothing to do with Divacon per say...
but I just came back from the most wonderful vacation ever.
The goth cruise!
You should all think about coming to that next year!
Islands. Warm weather. Slushy drinks. Need I say more?
Oh and SPF 48 = no sunburn no tan yay!
Just do me a favor and think about it ;)
